PHARMACOKINETIC MODELS

A pharmacokinetic model is a hypothetical model that helps to describe what happens to a drug in the body when it has been administered.

The one compartment model and two compartment model are described here.

• For a one compartment model, the whole body is treated as a single compartment.
• For a two compartment model, the body is treated as two compartments - a central compartment and a peripheral compartment.
