ONE COMPARTMENT MODEL
In the one compartment model, when a drug is administered the whole body acts together as a single compartment. It is assumed that the drug instantaneously and evenly distributes throughout the whole body. The model can be illustrated as shown below.
Assuming first order kinetics, if you plot the log of the plasma drug concentration against time (or the equivalent semilog graph of concentration against time), you will obtain a linear graph.
