What Is Chemotherapy?

Chemotherapy is the use of chemotherapeutic agents to destroy cancer cells. It is used to either cure, control or palliate.

It is the primary treatment for some cancers and an adjunct to the other forms of treatment ie surgery, radiation, and the biological response modifiers.

Categories of Chemotherapeutic Agents

There are two main categories of chemotherapeutic agent:

Cell Cycle Specific Agents
Cell Cycle Non-Specific Agents
