Introduction To Pharmacokinetics

Introduction

CALCULATING PARAMETERS AND METHODS OF ADMINISTRATION

Once you are familiar with the graphs, methods and terminology used in pharmacokinetics, the package:
  • Defines the pharmacokinetic parameters
  • Discusses useful equations
  • Illustrates how to use the graphs and equations to obtain values for the parameters

The package finishes by looking at the three main methods of administration:

  • Intravenous bolus dosing
  • Intravenous infusion
  • Oral dosing

For each method of administration, you will look at the plasma concentration against time graphs and find out which parameters you can calculate from the graphs and how to calculate these parameters.
