Introduction To Pharmacokinetics

Plotting On A Semilogarithmic Graph

SEMILOGARITHMIC GRAPHS IN PHARMACOLOGY

In pharmacology, you need to plot how drug concentration changes with time. When plotting this as a semilogarithmic graph:
  • The x-axis is time and uses a linear scale
  • The y-axis is concentration and uses a logarithmic scale

How do you work out how to label the y-axis - which log cycle should you start at?

Find out what the lowest recorded concentration that you need to plot is. This determines what log cycle you start the graph at.
